"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall."
-- Nelson Mandela

Our dear friend, Bob Park, was diagnosed last week with pancreatic cancer. When we get blindsided by tragedy, those who love us can help ease our concerns by taking away the day-to-day worries and ensuring that we have the means to take care of the two most important things in our lives: our Family and our Health.

We have started this care group to raise funds for this two fold purpose: To assist Bob and his family financially during this incredibly difficult time, and to raise funds to cover costs of certain mainstream and alternative treatments so that he can get better and has the resources available to him to fight this disease.

If you don't know Bob, or even if you do, we would like to share some wonderful things about him with you: Bob is forty-five years-old, turning forty-six just this month. He has called Whitehorse, Yukon his home since he was a wee babe. It is there that he lives with his beautiful partner of six years, Crystal, and his three year-old daughter, Meghan and seven year old son, Mathew. His family is his core and he loves them dearly. Bob is a devoted father to his children and just recently taught Mathew to play a round of golf. His little girl, Meghan, is the apple of his eye. Bob and Crystal have worked together for many years and have just recently embarked on their own business, a little sports bar called the "Road House" in Whitehorse. It is his first business venture; as a family they have put their heart and soul into making it work.

Bob is a wonderul friend; This has been even more evident in the last week where people have come from all over the continent to give their love and support to him and his family. You would be hard pressed to recall Bob ever saying anything negative about another human being, but you can easily recall his generous smile, kind gestures and the twinkle in his eye. He has been a sports fanatic, endlessly playing hockey, broomball and baseball. Whether working for someone or in his own business, he has always been an avid supporter of sporting teams in Whitehorse, and many other events that raise the human spirit and bring people together.

Bob, his family and friends thank you from the bottom of their heart for being here for them.
